End of Life Care Project Officer, Anna Law is running regular workshops entitled – “It’s Now or Never”.
The purpose of the Education Day is to provide knowledge and skills for clinicians to enter into end of life conversations with their patients and loved ones – therefore aiding the smoothe transition to the end of life phase for their patients. The aim is to have scores of invigorated champions leaving the training room ready to advocate for people in need of end of life care.
The first workshop was facilitated by Kate Munro – End of Life Care Coordinator, Hunter New England Local Health District. Kate has graciously offered her time to train local Clinicians as part of a cross-district “train the trainer” initiative.
Education Days are targeted at Clinicians including General Practitioners, Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, Social Workers, Nurses (mix CNC, NUM, CNE, NP, CNS, RN, EN) etc. and are being planned at various locations across the Richmond Valley with dates to be advised shortly.
