The International Summer School on Integrated Care was a five-day residential program for public sector leaders committed to driving integrated care. Participants travelled to Kingscliff, where they were exposed to a mix of International and Australian case studies, and encouraged to workshop solutions to their integrated care programs throughout the week. The Summer School supported 31 participants from Primary Health Networks (PHNs)/Local Health Districts and the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) to build their knowledge around innovative design and implementation.
The intensive program discussed the building blocks of integrated care and how to transition from concept to reality. PHNs from across NSW shared their integrative programs with the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) and ACI. Program areas being workshopped included:
- healthcare neighbourhoods
- managing COPD
- digital health
- cardiology and rehabilitation
- severe and chronic mental health
- urgent care access and demand
