Bullinah Aboriginal Health Service is a community controlled health service located in Ballina, servicing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients and their families from Ballina and surrounding communities including Cabbage Tree Island, Evans Head, Byron Bay, and Wollongbar.
Bullinah provides comprehensive primary health care services to clients of all ages with a focus on Aboriginal health assessments, social and emotional wellbeing, care planning and coordination, client advocacy, health promotion, and education.
Our vision is of “A strong, empowered, and healthy Goori community” facilitated by “working together with our communities and partners to achieve better health and wellbeing by delivering sustainable and holistic health services.”
Some of Bullinah’s strong partnerships include relationships with the Northern NSW Local Health District, North Coast Primary Health Network, NSW Rural Doctors Network, GP Synergy, Lismore University Centre for Rural Health, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney, Jali LALC, and Bunjum Aboriginal Corporation.

Client’s of Bullinah have access to 8 part time GP’s, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Aboriginal Health Workers, a number of activities including Mum’s and Bub’s groups, cooking & exercise groups, and a range of specialist/allied health providers including;

Bullinah offers services from four sites which are:
- 120 Tamar Street, Ballina (main site)
- 113 Tamar Street, Ballina (Child and Maternal Health)
- Cabbage Tree Island health post (outreach)
- 4/95 Tamar Street Ballina which houses our Tackling Indigenous Smoking team who’s main aim is to reduce smoking rates within Aboriginal communities, through health promotion, education, and their ‘Juhm Busters’ smoking cessation program.
