HealthPathways team says ‘thanks’
Much like last year, 2021 has been a difficult year for many – learning to live with COVID-19 while facing uncertainty and a seemingly constantly changing landscape.
The HealthPathways team thanks all our health workforce for your efforts and dedication and wish all a happy holiday season. We hope you have an opportunity to recharge your batteries and return refreshed in 2022.
Please remember that as well as looking after your patients and keeping them safe and healthy, it’s also important to look after yourself.
During 2021, the HealthPathways team carried out:
- 190 pathway reviews
- 244 COVID-19 updates
- 128 partial pathway updates (non-COVID)
- 35 pathway localisations (8 of these being new COVID-19 pathways)
- Held 6 pathway multidisciplinary workgroups
- Undertook an Evaluation of HealthPathways
Challenges for the program:
- COVID-19 rapid pathway development and updates
- Reduced number of face-to-face events affecting user engagement
- Reduced project officer support
- Limited availability of subject matter expert engagement to assist with content
feedback on new pathways and reviews
Plans for 2022:
- Develop a Strategic Work Plan for the next 3-5 years
- Play a key role in the recovery of COVID-19 with the development and review
of COVID-19 pathways - Undertake planned communication and engagement strategies to increase
adoption and use of HealthPathways by Health Professionals - Develop 20 new clinical pathways (some via multidisciplinary workgroups)
and review 174 clinical and referral pathways. - Implement an engagement strategy to engage subject matter experts to assist with pathway development and reviews
Our team hope our work has helped with the assessment and management of patients and we look forward to building on it in the new year.
