As demand for mental health treatment continues to soar, new figures show that GPs are doing the heaviest lifting to ease the burden of mental illness.

It is estimated the number of mental health presentations to GPs have increased by about 4.7% annually since 2009 reaching 15.8 million visits in the 2012/13 financial year.

The HealthPathways team have recently localised a suite of Mental Health Referral pages to help clinicians navigate the system.

  • Mental Health Referrals
  • Scheduling a Patient
  • Acute Mental Health Assessment
  • Non-acute Mental Health Referrals
  • Non-acute Child and Young Person’s Mental Health Assessment
  • Non-acute Adult Mental Health Assessment
  • Non-acute Older Adult Mental Health Assessment
  • Non-acute Drug and Alcohol Assessment
  • Psychological Therapy
  • Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)
  • Mental Health Psychosocial Report
  • Bereavement Support
  • Child, Adolescent and Family Counselling
  • Daily Living Community Support
