WINTER STRATEGY 2017
Every winter, there is a surge in healthcare demand both in the community and hospitals. Older and frail patients are especially vulnerable during this time.
The Winter Strategy 2017 aims to support general practices and Aboriginal Medical Services to keep their most vulnerable patients well and reduce their likelihood of being hospitalised this winter.
Welcome aboard Mr Ken Lee, Co-ordinator Strategic Programs Disability & Carers. Northern NSW Integrated Care will be working closely with Ken to guide strategy on consumer input across the various intiaitives underway as part of the local Integrated Care Strategy.
RURAL eHEALTH SCANNING PROJECT – TWEED ED The last implementation of eHealth NSW’s Rural eHealth Scanning Project was completed at Tweed Heads Emergency Department during the first week of April. This pilot focused on external GP referrals and Aged Care documentation being scanned on registration.
On Friday 12 May Lismore MP, Thomas George and Parliamentary Secretary for Regional and Rural Health, Leslie Williams hosted Palliative Care Round Table Discussions held at the local Council Chambers in Goonellabah.

PATIENT REPORTED MEASURES ONLINE TRAINING In 2016, The Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) developed a series of on-line education modules to support the implementation and sustainability of patient reported measures (PRMs) in clinical settings.
NDIS Launch in Northern NSW The NDIS Local Area Coordination (LACs) Service provided by Social Futures (formally known as the Northern Rivers Social Development Council) launched in Northern NSW.
